Learn more about North Georgia Mountains

Waterfalls and hiking trails beckon outdoor enthusiasts to explore the lush Appalachian wilderness. Zip through the treetops at Unicoi State Park or pan for gold in Dahlonega, where the first major U.S. gold rush began.

This is one of the many short falls on the Tallulah River at the bottom of Tallulah Gorge. To reach this point you have to climb 400 steps to the bottom of the gorge, cross the river (not easy) and hike about a half mile. It's a rugged hike over boulders and rock faces. Not for the faint of heart!
